Friday Night Fights: Feet of Fury Round 4

Once upon a time, over twenty years ago, there was a character created by Steve Ditko and Tom DeFalco named Speedball. He was a fun character, and went on to enjoy a long if unimpressive career as a super-hero. Like Spider-Man, he was a teenager who gained super-powers in a lab accident and wanted to hide his powers from his parents (who were both still alive, amazingly) and he was trying to find out why and what exactly they did. As I said, he was fun, but his resume left a lot to be desired. Squirrel Girl of the Great Lakes Avengers (I don’t care what they’re called now, they’ll always be the GLA to me) liked him, at least. And one time, he kicked the heck out of the Sphinx:
You have to admire that, SpaceBooger, at least a little bit. In recent years, they’ve made him the tortured survivor of a catastrophe and he’s all grim and gritty and god, but I wish he’d just be Speedball again. I miss Speedball. You can click on the image to go to a review. Hooray!
