Where mayhem is the man-fish!

Dude, you’re getting a Phantom!

I hope everyone had a nice Halloween. Here’s your commentary.

20091101Spider-Man is being real unethical with all of this, but there’s a way they can both get what they want. They could hatch a plan which would involve Sandman agreeing to Bigshot’s heist, then Spider-Man shows up to fight the Sandman while getting his pictures. Then, Spider-Man can throw the fight. This would make both Jameson and Bigshot extremely happy. However, when Bigshot least expects it, Spider-Man can hop back up and help Sandman get his daughter back. They probably won’t do this.

20091031mNot only has the real Mandrake confronted the impostor, but there’s going to be some sort of violent storm? I am almost intrigued!

20091031pI’m pretty sure that the first Phantom killed a bunch of pirates and stuff. Also, not to start some sort of moral quandary here, but Chatu is a terrorist who just had an entire building of people killed to get at one person, and I’m sure he’s killed people before. I don’t know if they have the death penalty in Africa, but I’m pretty sure he’d be getting it.

20091101fFlash Gordon continues to be sort of a mindfreak, but now we have real Dale breaking into the nightmare and helping ol’ Flash out. On a side note, I saw the first episode of the “Flash Gordon” cartoon and it was pretty good.

20091101pThe kid lives in the middle of the jungle with a bunch of pygmies. How did he learn a word like “Dude”? It’s crazy.

I like the continuity with the toy car in Spider-Man.

“I don’t know if they have the death penalty in Africa”

Well, Africa is a huge continent with several countries, so it depends on which country you’re in.

Some countries there do have the death penalty. Two people from my country (Norway) was actually given the death sentence in Congo a month ago. It’s doubtful that it will be carried out, though.

I also reacted to the use of the word “dude.” It’s so totally out of character and style for this strip.

And don’t get me started on how out of character Peter Parker is in Stan’s strip. He would never have done that in the original comics that Stan Lee wrote, or at least he claims he wrote them.
