Of Ferris Wheels and Lovecraftian Horrors
Posted by meekrat on November 5, 2009
By now, you should know that I do the Thursday and Friday posts at the Daily Comics Review. I’m going to keep telling you about it, though, just in case you forgot.
I’m glad Peter realizes that trying to get Sandman to fake-fight him was a scuzzy idea. Good for you, Spider-Man. However, I do wonder where the Sandman’s apartment is, seeing as how there’s a ferris wheel a few blocks away. I also appreciate how the Sandman is standing there all contemplative. Don’t know why, but I do.
Derek’s theory is sound, but that first word bubble in the third panel concerns me. Things were closing in? What things? The cops? Some other things? Lovecraftian things? That would make things a lot more interesting, to say the least. Horrific, but interesting.
I wonder if that’s really what the Phantom was thinking. The double exclamation points in his thought bubble do nothing to solve this mystery.
