Stan Lee’s Continued Folly

Hey there, folks! Today marks the 500th Daily Comics Review post, written by yours truly with some bonus Spider-Man and “Defenders of the Earth” related stuff! So you should go check it out.
Even Spider-Man has started calling him Big-Time. Come on, Stan Lee, do a Google search and discover your folly! Or even go back over your notes, if you have them. A plus side to this strip is Sandman’s unwillingness to fight Spider-Man, but there’s still hope that he’ll get Spider-Man to assist him in saving his daughter and, possibly, getting out of a lengthy stay in prison. I mean, if I was Spider-Man, I’d be wondering what the second two panels are about and thinking something was up.
Mandrake, you said the Wheelman wouldn’t attack if there was water, and you’re in the middle of a tropical storm. The only way he’s going to strike any of you is if the wind knocks him over. Also, Nick and Hildy would be idiots if they listened to the man who so recently had a gun drawn on them
This is all well and good, but Heloise seems all to willing to accept that her mother is dead and that she’s never coming back. In fact, she’s taking all of this a bit too well… perhaps she got sick of living in the Deep Woods and is pleased to be moving to an actual house, if only for a little while. If so, then Heloise is sort of a B.

The Bigshot/Bigtime mix-up is about the funniest thing I have seen in a while.

Why does Sandman have to fight Spiderman? The only one who wants a fight – that I remember – is Spidey, and only so he can sell crappy pix to JJJ.

Sandman has to fight Spider-Man because Bigshot is holding Sandman’s daughter captive.

Well, yeah.
But does that have anything to do with Spider-Man, or is it just that Sandman has to do whatever Bigshot says?
