Saturday’s comic is only notable because Stan Lee finally remembered that he named his antagonist Bigshot. Better late than never, I suppose. I wonder how many people only get the weekday versions of this comic and will let down by the fact that the fight will only last about two punches? None, if they know about the Amazing Spider-Blog!
I thought the Wheelman couldn’t operate in the rain or some such nonsense? In any case, it’s good to finally see him doing something, even if that something is strangling Mandrake’s brother. Especially that, actually. Good on you, Wheelman.
I think Heloise may have figured out how lost you are, but Kit doesn’t seem like the sharpest knife in the drawer, so you probably have a while longer with him. Also, if you’re leaving town because you’re afraid you’re going to kill Chatu in cold blood (I don’t think it’d be cold blood, considering he blew up a building) I guess that’s a good reason. At least we’ll get globe-trotting Phantom adventures! I hope he meets the Croccos again, and maybe that one lady captain? She’ll be all like, “Oh no, your wife is dead? Well then, let me ease your comfort” and at first you’ll like it, then you’ll think, “This isn’t right, it’s far too soon” and it’ll work out because you’ll come back in months and find out Diana is still alive! That’s what I think/hope will happen anyway.
I am glad that thing is dying a horrible fiery death because it’s scary and I hate it. Also, this ending, where the hero mourns the loss of someone he’s never really known, is pretty much par for the course for this sort of story. Also, he’s not really stranded. They just have to find a space rocket that can travel through space.
Kit Walker is a smug little jackanape. Note that when I refer to Kit Walker, it’s the son of the current Phantom, not the Phantom himself.
Kit Walker: Sort of a Jerk
